GUIDE HOW TO GET THE 'CONTENT PACK' TO WORK: 1. First of all i am using the game 'The klub 17' Which i downloaded here: ) 2. If you have this version installed everything should work like a charm. Download the pack and then install, When installed many people wonder where do the files go and what do i have to do now?
4.To finish the hole procedure go into 'C:' or where you hade your game installed, look for the map called 'TheKlub17'. Doubble click the program and let it run, Be patient and let it run, it's going to take a couple of hours to finish, about 3-4 hours. The key here is just to be patient!:) 7. When the program is done, press 'close' and start the game. If you've followed all this steps everything should work just fine.
Re: The Klub 17?? Why doesn't this asswipe tell us why Thrixxx has threatened and pursued litigation against other, legitimate companies that have developed their own competing programs on the basis of 'intellectual copyright'? Thus insuring that they have no serious competition in the marketplace? This 'we're a poor little tech company that everyone is picking on' bit is old hat by now, and total bullshit. Maybe if they sunk the money into their game that they instead sink into legal to attack anybody who gives them competition, then more people would be happy to pay for their service. But instead they have a dated engine that they refuse to update, no matter how much their paid, loyal subscribers beg and demand improvements on.
And they would rather sit on it and attack anyone that can do better, because they have a monopoly. This is illegal in most legal jurisdictions, but then, what government is going to actively pursue that against a 'dirty porn game'? It's a scam, PERIOD. They fear the modding community because more and more of their people are looking at what's been accomplished and saying 'seriously, Thrixx, you guys can't do this?'
I guarantee if the modders could charge for their work, they would quickly outdistance 3X and they would be gone. EDIT: Don't you love how this tool in one paragraph says it's not that complicated to make a sex-sim game and then a few paragraphs later tells us we 'have no idea what goes into making a sex-sim'? I seriously doubt this is actually an employee, because, first and foremost, it opens them up to all kinds of legal repercussions based on his statements. If it IS legit, then it's somebody who has gone completely off the reservation. I think we should run a kickstarter account and actually build a new program. Then we just do what they did with Hustler and go to a major porn studio like Brazzers, Wicked, or Playboy and get them to consider franchising it.
Then we get the last laugh. 'Employee' since I know you're reading this, I expect you to remove ALL of the modding community's content from GE. Since it was made with an 'illegal' mod of the game, then it clearly violates your own TOS to have it on your site. Re: The Klub 17?? It's easy to say he's wrong when he makes a fool of himself, but he did make a lot of valid points. Of course that isn't saying you shouldn't go ahead with your project.
Just cobble together as much open source stuff as you can and do the best to fill the gaps. Considering the amount of content that you own, you should be able to put together something decent looking to try and find funding. Also although its smaller offbeatr.com is a kickstarter specialising in adult projects. Try and find yourself some coders as that seems what you're lacking and as soon as money starts to be involved people have a habit of not walking away. I can give you some tips if you'd like on project management. Also because court records should be public what are the cases that thrixxx have brought against other people? Re: The Klub 17??
Part of the problem when it comes to the AO rating stems from the assumption that a lot of games in that are just there for the naughty bits, or are only just because of extreme adult content. As a result, a lot of mainstream publishers out for the bottom line instead of trying to make the media work in new ways shy away from it, because then you got a bigger target audience, and in all fairness, you can do cheesecake in another game and still keep the parents and other 'crusaders' off your back (Dead or Alive, anyone?). Personally, admittedly I was a bit harsher earlier in this thread but to add to this current discussion, I wouldn't mind seeing some more properly-done games with adult content. The fact that offbeatr exists is just enough proof that some people are interested in making such creations flow. Re: The Klub 17??
I think kickstarting this kind of project would be difficult because nobody in the community is willing to leave anonymity. Also this is not the kind of thing Open Source developers want to show up in their curricula, unfortunately. I remember the frustrating discussions going on those times when we were version-2.58-stuck, and all of the sudden White Rabbit provided us his unlocked current one. Who knows how many lurking Whiterabbits are fiddling with their TK-content-powered own experimental programs at this very moment? I do believe that if 5 or 6 anonymous volunteers with some 3D engine programming skills try and give the kickoff and provide a very basic kick-and-dirty working prototype, further development will gain big momentum in short time. I don't like 3Xs.
I would not buy and will not buy their game, essentially due to its closed model. It cannot be and never will be a game for modders, period. But I think a lot of customers are comfortable with that subscription model and will continue buying it. Millions of them won't ever get their hands dirty putting together modded stuff, they literally want to plug-and-play. I'm fine with 3Xs having some market share, no prob. They are not our 'enemies'.
And I don't like to play a cracked game, this really bugs me. I want an open, completely moddable game, with no restrictions whatsoever, and 3Xs cannot accomplish this. All the generous work that went into mod content generated by our community deserves an independent, open, clean and friendly platform to run upon. Re: The Klub 17?? Some might know that I'm the guy behind a series of blog posts that basically knocked 3x in the nuts for being scam artists and stating that their business model was a front runner to the Current Free-to-play cash-drain mania currently chocking gaming as a whole. I took them down back in May for a variety of reasons, but I still think my point stands though.
One funny thing I've been noticing though, a lot of things in SV's latest patches were things TK17 did first. Like the doubled mouth open was done in TK17 a few months before it popped in SV(I believe). You guys should really get on making some really needed changes(like a hip/vagina connection/slider allowing women on top poses to be made much easier) because that's the only way 3x will put them in.
A good point, Nunu, but keep in mind that they haven't 'worked hard' or spent that much in many years. They put out addon content that many of our community could make, faster and better. I'm normally a very honest gamer. I pay for what I play.
I suscribed to that site for a long time when V2 first came out, and they got plenty of my money and I got NOTHING in return except a demand for more money. I play MMOs that are pay-as-you-go, and I'm happy with them, because they come up with new and innovative content before asking for my money.
And if I pass on one of their offerings, it does not shut down access to 90% of their game. There are many examples of the FTP system being wildly successful, they just don't want to do that because a) it would make them actually have to do work to keep customers and b0 they've got the market cornered so they can proceed at whatever pace they choose (snail). No, of course not. In fact, I can relate to them being pissed off since I can very well imagine that their revenue took a hit because of customers leaving them for the free version, and that they are probably even affected personally and see their livelihood threatened by the klub's activities (but that doesn't change the fact that they were handing out a sub-par product and would have continued sitting on their hands if the klub's modding community hadn't forced them to evolve). But the main point of my post was that, yes, it is possible that this wall of text-rant was legit and indeed made by a 3x employee since that line of reasoning is all too familiar to someone who reads the official forums.
